The Importance of Eye Exams

Eye exams are fundamental to everybody’s ocular health.

As you age, it becomes even more important to have your eyes examined regularly. Your eyes become increasingly susceptible to diseases ranging from cataracts, glaucoma to age-related macular degeneration.

Most eye diseases do not demonstrate symptoms in their early stages: this makes them difficult to detect without the help of your optometrist. Left unchecked, you could experience permanent vision loss before realizing you even have an eye disease.

Vision loss is usually permanent, but more often than not preventable.

Special Focus

During your eye exam, we test your…

Visual acuity is a measure of how well you are able to see details such as letters, numbers, or pictures at distance and near. A reduction in visual acuity may be indicative of an issue such as nearsightedness, farsightedness or an eye disease.

A refraction involves using specialized tools to determine if you have a prescription and whether visual correction is needed, and if so, to what extent. This complex process will aid in determining the best treatment for you.

Our wealth of experience, advanced technology, and detailed assessment of the risk factors present ensure a complete evaluation of your eyes for various diseases. We customize the examination process according to the unique needs of each patient.
